Visibility & Sharing
Who can see your recordings, tracks and releases — and how to let someone outside the band hear them.
Two tiers, not three
Every recording, track, release, event and playlist carries a visibility setting with three options — Private, Members and Public. It is worth knowing up front that Private and Members behave identically inside your band. Every active member sees every item either way, whichever of the two you pick.
The setting decides one thing: whether an item can appear outside the band. Private and Members never do. Public does — on your band page, in a public playlist or release, and in the public directory.

Where to change it
- Per item: the visibility badge on any recording, track, release, event or playlist card opens a dropdown with the three options.
- Band default: Settings → Preferences sets what new uploads start as.
- Filter by it: the Filters panel on your recordings, tracks, playlists and releases lists has a Visibility filter, so you can check what is public before you share the page.
Share links
A share link lets one person hear one recording, track or setlist without an account and without making anything public. Pick the access tier when you create it:

- Links expire after 7 days by default. You can change that, or turn expiry off.
- Deactivating is separate from expiry. If a link gets out, revoke it from the band's Shares page rather than waiting for it to lapse.
- Every visit is logged, so the Shares page shows a view count and when a link was last opened.
Band invites
Invites are the other direction: they bring someone into the band rather than sending one item out. Invite by email or share an invite link, and the person picks up the role you assigned when they accept. Roles and what each one can do are covered in Members & Bands.
