Band Jams supports multiple audio formats and uses resumable uploads for reliability.

Resumable Uploads
If your connection drops during upload, it will resume where it left off. No need to start over.
Waveform Processing
After upload, waveform data is generated in the background. This takes a few seconds for most files.
No Audio Yet
A recording imported as metadata only is a placeholder: it carries a No audio yet badge in place of the Play button until its audio file arrives.

The waveform player visualizes your audio and provides precise playback control.

Zoom and Fit
The player opens fully zoomed out, so the whole track is on screen. Use = and - to zoom in and out, and F to fit the waveform back to the full track.
Timeline Lane
The strip under the waveform is the player's minimap: a mini waveform, a box marking the part of the track currently on screen, the comment pins, and — on wide screens — labeled bars for any linked songs. Drag the strip to scroll the zoomed-in view; click a pin or a song bar to seek there.
Loop Regions
A recording can store its own loop region — a saved start and end point. When one is set, the player arms it as soon as the file loads and keeps playback inside it. That is separate from Shift+L, which loops the whole track.
Comments & Markers
Add timestamped feedback directly on the waveform. Each marker type has a specific purpose to help categorize your comments.
Idea
Mark creative suggestions, new arrangement ideas, or potential changes.
Issue
Flag problems - timing issues, wrong notes, audio glitches.
Highlight
Mark great moments — standout riffs and memorable performances.
Section
Denote song structure - intro, verse, chorus, bridge, outro.
Comment
General feedback that doesn't fit other categories.
Splitting a session into songs
Open the recording and turn on Edit Mode. Drag across the waveform where a song starts and ends, then pick the song or create a new one. Each song keeps a history of every recording it appears in.

Sharing & Visibility
Every recording carries a visibility level — Private, Members or Public — changed from the visibility badge on its card or in its info panel.
For people outside the band, a share link gives guests access without an account, at a view, comment or download tier, and can be set to expire.
