Overview
Band Jams is built around bands - your collaborative workspace. Each band has its own recordings, catalog items, ideas, and conversations. You can be a member of multiple bands and switch between them easily.
Create
Start a new band and invite your collaborators.

Bring in band members via email or shareable invite links.

Creating Bands
Start a new band to begin collaborating.
Band Setup
- Band Name: Choose a name for your band or project
- Band Slug: A unique URL identifier (e.g., my-band)
- Settings: Configure band preferences and default permissions
Inviting Members
Bring your bandmates into the workspace.
Email Invites
Enter email addresses to send direct invitations. Recipients click the link to join.
Invite Links
Generate a shareable link. Anyone with the link can request to join the band.
Invitation Status
- Pending: Invitation sent, waiting for response
- Accepted: Member has joined the band
Member Roles
Each member has a role that determines their default access level.
Owner
Full access to everything. Can manage billing, delete the band, and transfer ownership.
Admin
Can manage members, settings, and all content. Cannot manage billing or delete the band.
Member
Can create and edit content (recordings, catalog, ideas, events). The default role for new members.
Guest
Read-only access. Can view content and leave comments but cannot create or modify items.
Permissions
Control what each member can do. Permissions are granular - assign only what's needed.

Switching Bands
If you're in multiple bands, switch between them easily.
Band Switcher
The band switcher in the sidebar shows your current band. Click it to see all your bands and switch to a different one. Each band has its own isolated workspace.
- Your current band is shown in the header
- Click to open the band selector
- Your selection is remembered for next time
Member Profiles
See what each member has contributed to the band.
Activity Stats
See recordings uploaded, comments made, ideas created, and more.
Achievements
Earn badges for milestones like first upload, 100 comments, and more.
Streaks
Track activity streaks. Stay engaged and keep the momentum going.
